Thomas leads the public relations and crisis communications practice for Neathawk Dubuque & Packett (ND&P). He has extensive experience in corporate communications, media relations, speech writing, special events and more. This former journalist loves deadlines and understands what it takes to stand out in today’s wide variety of communication channels.
Prior to owning his own agency, The Becher Agency (tba), and joining ND&P through a merger, this self-described aviation junkie led media relations, employee communications, corporate communications and crisis management at aviation industry icons Pratt & Whitney, Atlas Air and Northwest Airlines.
While at Atlas and Northwest, he managed strategic communications domestically and around the world. At Atlas, he gained valuable insight into international cargo, logistics and trade lanes.
Today, he's helping businesses of all sizes and industries, non-profit organizations and government agencies pursue strategic, results-driven, award-winning campaigns in public relations and advertising. He works in industries that include aviation, technology, healthcare, legal, manufacturing and services.
Prior to his career in public relations, he was a reporter and editor with the Associated Press in four markets around the nation and covered the Connecticut statehouse.
He's also the author of two aviation books: Boeing 757 and 767 and Douglas Twinjets for Crowood Press of Great Britain.
